Waar sta ik eigenlijk? Where do I really stand?
Na het vertrekpunt komt een persoonlijke vraag: als God vandaag iets doet, waar sta ik daarin? After the starting point comes a personal question: if God is doing something today, where do I stand in that?
Niet eerst: wat vindt mijn omgeving? Maar: hoe zie ik mijn plaats in Gods huidige handelen? Not first: what does my environment think? But: how do I see my place in God's present work?
- Ben ik vooral bezig met kerk?
- Met traditie?
- Met activiteiten?
- Met kennis op zichzelf?
- Of begrijp ik mijn plaats in Gods huidige handelen?
- Am I mainly occupied with church?
- With tradition?
- With activities?
- With knowledge by itself?
- Or do I understand my place in God's present work?
Paulus spreekt over de Gemeente als het Lichaam van Christus. Dat zet de vraag op scherp: zie ik mezelf ook zo geplaatst? Paul describes the church as the Body of Christ. That sharpens the question: do I see myself placed there as well?
Als God vandaag iets doet, waar sta ik daarin? If God is doing something today, where do I stand in that?
Positie is geen eindpunt en geen uitspraak over anderen. Position is not an endpoint and not a statement about others.
Het is een tussenvraag voor jezelf: misschien ben ik nog niet helemaal zeker waar ik sta. It is an in-between question for yourself: perhaps I am not yet fully sure where I stand.
Vanuit die open houding kunnen we door naar de volgende vraag: welk spoor volg ik? From that open posture we can move to the next question: which path am I following?
